
Prof. Gabriel Shirima
Prof. Shirima is an Associate Professor of Veterinary Public Health specializing on Epidemiology of emerging and re-emerging infectious Zoonoses with special interest on One Health. He is a PhD graduate from the University of Glasgow-UK and Master of Veterinary Public Health of Sokoine University-Tanzania. He is a trainer, mentor, and supervisor of postgraduate scholars at Nelson Mandela African Institution of Science and Technology (NM-AIST) and Afrique One scholar. He also, serve as Adjunct Professor at Washington State University-USA. He is a member of the Research Communication Subcommittee of the East African Science and Technology Commission (EASTECO) and board member of several institutions. In collaboration with other partners including those from the UK, USA, ILRI and Tanzania he managed to secure several One Health/animal health related projects such as Supporting National Action Plan for AMR, Precision Livestock Farming, Brucellosis and Anthrax surveillance and diagnostics.
