Dr. Ahmed Lugelo is a veterinary researcher and public health advocate, renowned for his efforts in combating infectious diseases. Dr. Lugelo’s research endeavors have primarily centered around utilizing the One Health approach to develop innovative and socially equitable solutions aiming at protecting people and animals against neglected tropical zoonoses, particularly rabies.

Dr. Lugelo’s academic journey is marked by excellence and dedication. He obtained his PhD in Veterinary Medicine from Sokoine University of Agriculture (2018 – 2023), where he conducted groundbreaking research in vaccine delivery in hard-to-reach communities. He also holds an MSc in Veterinary Public Health from the University of London (2013 – 2015) and a Bachelor of Veterinary Medicine from Sokoine University of Agriculture (2005 – 2010).
