Who we are
We are Global Health Tanzania
Global Health Tanzania is a registered NGO in the United Republic of Tanzania dedicated to the One Health concept of improving and protecting public health through research and action at the human, animal, and environmental interfaces. In addition to scientists trained in epidemiology, medicine, and veterinary medicine, we bring together expertise from engineering and computer science, economics, and social sciences to address endemic and emerging health challenges—establishing the Global Health Tanzania as a unique resource for improving the lives of Tanzanians and those across Africa. Our work is conducted in collaboration with national and local government, universities, and a diversity of private and public partners. Our work is made possible through grants, contracts, and generous donor support.
where we work
Global Health Tanzania (GHT) has its main office in Arusha and a satellite office in Mugumu. We have laboratories in the Nelson Mandela African Institution of Science and Technology in Arusha and vaccine storage facilities in Mwanza. Our scientists conduct community-based research and implementation throughout northern Tanzania, collaborating with the National Institute of Medical Research, the Tanzanian Wildlife Research Institute, and Veterinary Services within the Ministry of Livestock and Fisheries.
